Have you been to Alberta Street this summer?
It has changed quite a bit, even since last year this time. Several new, well thought out developments, like the one above have come to live, bringing more and more people to the area to see what it has to offer. The Alberta Street Fair for 2010 promises to draw one of the largest crowds yet…a perfect time to check out the new Alberta.
WHAT: The 13th Annual Alberta Street Fair
WHERE: Saturday, August 21, 2010 on NE Alberta Street; between 10th and 30th Avenues
FAMILY FRIENDLY: Yes
KIDS CORNER: 17th Ave; Kids, stop by and transform your bike into proper parade exhibits
PARADE: Yes
LOCAL ARTS AND CRAFTS: Of Course, over 150 of them
BEER: Yes. Beer Garden at 11th Avenue, featuring Portland’s many Microbreweries
MUSIC: Yes. 11th Ave, 21st Ave and 30th Ave. (and most likely on every corner as well)
Things you might want to hit on your 20 block stroll:
- Community Cycling Center will feature a station to “take a picture with your bike”.
- Radio Room will host “Beer and Bands for Bikes” in the parking lot across the street. KZME will MC the band stage, local beer will be poured and all proceeds will benefit the Community Cycling Center.
- Star e Rose Cafe on 24th and Alberta: Hosting free music all day and a night of belly dancing from 7-9 PM.
- Siam Society for a quick drink or an out of this world Thai dinner…try the Sexy Beef.

Little Bay Root will be between 26th and 27th Avenues.
